St Valentine's Day

The Inn at Fossebridge creates a feast for St Valentine's Day lovers

The team at The Inn at Fossebridge has created some mighty dishes to set before Gloucestershire lovers on St Valentine's Day.

Owner's daughter Liz Jenkins from the famed Pru Leith cookery academy and French head chef Laurent Guillery have jointly produced a menu that combines romance, with the best in English and French dining.

They have woven four different starters, four main courses, and four puddings, with champagne to start and coffee with petit fours to follow to match the very special reasons for St Valentine's Day.

The starters include dishes embracing seafood, chicken and ham, salads and a vegetarian watercress soup with tomato concasse.

Barbary duck, sea bass, local lamb and a truffles dish for vegetarians are featured within the main courses.

And pud-a-holics can enjoy chocolate with berries, a passion fruit tart with clotted cream, rice pudding with glazed pears, and an apricot rum sauce.Alternatively there's a British cheese board.

The cost: £35 per head.

Liz Jenkins, who jointly manages the business with her father Robert said:" It has been a huge delight to create a menu to set before people in love for this hugely celebratory occasion".

The 300 years old coaching inn is also offering special overnight packages at £250 for two sharing a room, plus dinner and breakfast.

Bookings can be made with Robert or Liz on 01285 720721.
